These trays are produced directly in-line on the Paper Shape Line 2, a forming and sealing system developed in collaboration with Cartotecnica Moreschini. The process starts with flat die-cut cardboard featuring pre-creased, sealable lips. Through mould and counter-mould forming, the material is shaped into rigid trays with a stable flat base and patented corner design for durability and sealing strength.
For products requiring added protection, an optional barrier liner can be applied after forming. This makes the trays suitable for chilled or moist foods and compatible with MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) or skin packaging formats.
Paper Shape tray sizes can be customised within defined format ranges (approx. 148×232 mm to 180×250 mm footprint, 20–35 mm height), offering flexibility across different products. The design also reduces paper consumption while increasing usable volume, providing both sustainability benefits and practical performance.
By combining recyclability, efficiency, and strong visual presentation, paper-based trays give producers a viable and environmentally responsible alternative to traditional plastic trays.
