FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What types of fruit and vegetables can you package?

We can package whole, cut, washed and ready-to-eat produce including berries, grapes, apples, salads, root vegetables, sliced peppers, prepped stir-fry mixes and frozen vegetable portions. Machines are configured to handle delicate produce without damage while maintaining speed and accuracy.

Which packaging formats are best for fresh fruit?

Berries and small fruit benefit from MAP-sealed trays with clear lids to protect and display the product. Whole fruit such as apples or kiwis are often flow wrapped for efficient multi-packs. Snack packs of grapes or mixed fruit can be supplied in portion pots or trays with lidding film for convenience and hygiene.

Can your machines run sustainable materials?

Yes. We work with rPET trays, compostable pulp trays, cardboard-based formats and recyclable mono-material films. All materials are tested for seal performance, clarity and strength to ensure they work in high-speed production while meeting sustainability goals.

How do you adapt machines for different produce types?

We adjust tooling, sealing temperatures, film type and pack format based on the product’s shape, moisture content and respiration rate. For example, perforated films can be used for fresh vegetables to control airflow, while anti-fog films help maintain visibility for high-moisture fruit in chill cabinets.

What support do you provide to UK produce packers?

We offer installation, commissioning, operator training and ongoing servicing from our UK base. Trials can be run with your product and packaging to confirm performance before installation. Our support includes rapid spare parts dispatch and process optimisation to maintain output and pack quality year-round.
